It's amazing how many stories are told here in just 91 minutes as if this movie covers 4 episodes of content. Each person feels realistic and interesting, giving Violet Evergarden a mature cast of characters. Similarly, Takaaki Suzuki and Urabata Tatsuhiko's writing also adds some more depth and perspective. Akiko Takase's character designs for Violet and Isabella are really lovely and ladylike. Violet Evergarden is one of anime's greatest heroines for her genuine personality, ever changing warmth, and honest persona. It's nice to see Violet Evergarden make a friend in Isabella York and nurture a lost child like she once was with Taylor in this film. Seeing Violet go from a shy, uncertain, near unfeeling girl to a confident and kind empath is wonderful. Kana Akatsuki's original story feels just as empathetic and interesting as a movie like the endearing miniseries. All the drama comes across as serious and heartfelt within Violet Evergarden. Haruka Fujita's direction is absorbing both visually and emotionally for each scene with an intimate feel. I hope to see the story continue in the upcoming film eagerly as Violet Evergarden just keeps getting more moving and relatable for me on some profound level. Fujita captures the same touching vibe and quick pace of the show, while continuing Violet's emotional journey into adulthood. It's a nice follow-up to Taichi Ishidate's anime series Violet Evergarden. Haruka Fujita's drama anime picture Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll (2019) is a gorgeously hand drawn movie with heartbreaking emotion. A beautiful sentimental film with astonishing animation.
